The Perfect Quiche!

Real men eat quiche….

I know my grandson loves this dish. If you think this quiche is complicated…guess again.

It’s a “pat in the pan” crust with a five ingredient filling.

 Preheat your oven to 450°

Crust:

1 1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup oil

a pinch of salt

Combine the above with a fork.  Gradually add up to 2 tbsp milk. You’ll know when to stop when the pastry follows the fork when you’re stirring.  Pat the pastry in a deep pie pan.  Don’t be afraid to use your hands!

Filling:

4 eggs

a pinch of salt

red pepper flakes

1/2 pint whipping cream

1 cup grated swiss cheese

red onion

Beat together the eggs. Add a pinch of salt and a shake of red pepper flakes.
Pour the 1/2 pint of whipping cream into egg mixture. Add a cup of grated swiss cheese and then pour the entire mixture into the pie pan. Thinly slice a red onion and layer the slices around the quiche. Bake at 450° for 15 minutes, then 350°for another half hour.
